GENEVA

— The Geneva Summit of 1985, between U.S. President Ronald Reagan, and Soviet General Secretary Mikhail Gorbachev, in Geneva, Switzerland

like two old women...
they squat... and urinate on the sidewalk
as the darkness of ignorance
hangs heavy like a blanket of night
above their heads...
yet this comforts them...
for many things shall be hidden this day...
although the light of knowledge
hovers somewhere on the horizon...
one has contempt for the east
the other despises the west
yet their beady eyes searches... right... and left...
haunted by the fear of being seen
for who they really are...
and although they are pissing fast
it's coming slow...
so they hold hands... and strain...
so they can express unity in difficulty...
but in reality...
to more shield the nakedness of their souls...
all their yesterdays
they have been carrying the load...
and although they bare the pain
with a show of strength...

-- Dem nuh young nuh mor

each one smells the sulfur
as it leaves the other's wrinkled body...
and grow dazed from the fumes
but as the acid
is about to eat away their sacred flesh...
they cut short their piss... and stand...
with a combined hate... and fear...
they look at each other...
then turn their backs... and walk...
one going east...
the other west...
and as they re-enter the world of us
poor mortal souls...
they smile and wave
with an innocent air of maternal comfort...
and as you run towards them
to rest your heads on their breast
for the love of peace...
i see a telltale stream of piss... and shit...
trickling down their legs...

Within the central heart of my writing... like the rainbow... I engender to reflect the multiple colours of man's nature... from the subtle inconsequential bland... through to a harsh biting grip, that can near tear at the soul of the eyes... yet when taken as a whole... can deliver I trust... the enigmatic elements of the rainbow... that seeks to soothe... and comfort... yet still find the illusive time... to tickle the funnybone...
